I searched the Internet and found that Peppermint oil, Human hair and Fox urine all seem to have been met with some success. Traps are also very good but I'm not at the barn daily. Once the fall arrives I will however visit more regularly to at least eradicate them as best as possible. Apparently mice follow their own feces as a homing device - cleaning up droppings is important. I came across this organic repellent called Fresh Cab. Find a different place to store them or get a cat.
The hungrier, the meaner, the better! But I didn't know the tidbit about mice using their poop as a homing device. Kinda makes sense to me the more I think about it. In all seriousness, you may want to contact George at Leatherique and see if his leather cleaner can have peppermint oil added to it as a mouse repellent?

My friend owns the historical buildings and the barn in this particular case is dormant and is used solely to store family and friends personal recreational vehicles, campers, boats etc.. I've been storing our cars since with absolutely no problems. Anyway thank you all for your advice I'll take it from here as I know what to do. Oh just to let you know there is no hydro in the old barn. I've set up a solar panel to keep the battery charged which feeds my buster. Update: I just got back from the barn today and my ES seems to have been spared at least on the interior.
I'll inspect further soon. Log in or Sign up Close Panel.

Hickory Dickory dock the mouse I've been pulling the cars out of storage the last couple of days and to my surprise I found a mouse nest in the engine compartment - next to the driver side firewall. It's my wife's car that I pulled first and I haven't inspected my ES yet - fingers crossed.
